On Thursday my fever came back and this time
it was on full attack. It got up to as high as 103 early Saturday
morning (4 a.m. early). I went to the doctor on Saturday and they
diagnosed a small ear infection - in both ears. Needless to say, they
prescribed Amoxicillin. By late Saturday night I was feeling much
better and I was fever free!
On Sunday I got a nasty rash.
On Monday I went back to the doctor, stopped
the Amoxicillin, found out that my ears had cleared up, and learned that all
events above were most likely attributed to a virus of some sort.
Today, I still have the nasty rash but I am
back to my normal self.
In addition to all of that excitement, I have
started to wake up frequently during the night. I have become quite
active while I sleep and lately find myself stuck in corners or hanging out
the sides of the crib. Getting into these positions is easy but
getting out...well that requires a helping hand from a very sleepy Mommy or
Daddy.

New Food this Week:
Blueberry YoBaby Yogurt and Butternut Squash with Corn (jar food).

Last Thursday I got my very first fever.
It wasn't too high and it didn't really slow me down either - I was as
smiley and happy as always.
I know all of you have been patiently waiting
to hear the results of my wellness visit so here is the recap. I
now weigh 14 lbs. 12 oz. (yes, I am just a little peanut). I grew two
whole inches since my 6 month visit which puts me at 28 inches long.
Aside from the fever I passed with flying colors. They did poke my big
left toe to draw blood to test my iron levels (which are fine) and for lead
(still waiting). They had to fill part of a tube with the blood.
I didn't care for that one bit - and told the nurse as much as she milked my
poor toe like a cow.
I get to start eating finger foods among
other things and so far I have had chunky avocado (as opposed to the pureed
and strained kind) and apple YoBaby yogurt (YUM!). I also got my first
taste of lemon sorbet and DQ Soft Serve - very nice indeed - I only wish I
could have had more than a taste.

New Food this Week:
Apple YoBaby Yogurt and Apples with Cherries.

I have a new cousin as you can see in the box
below! I also learned that my friend Sam has a new baby brother,
Harry. Wow, lots of new babies!
I am moving backwards. I don't know if
you'd actually call it crawling but I push backwards while I am in a raised
arm position. I also started handing things to Mommy and Daddy.
I think it is really fun to give them my toys.
Last night I got to feed Mommy! It was
hilarious. She'd open her mouth and stick out her tongue and I would
put a Gerber Fruit Puff on it. I haven't quite figured out that I can
put them in my own mouth. Wilson got in on the action and I fed some
to him too. With the introduction of food, our relationship has become
more cemented.
On Friday I have my 9 month wellness visit.
We'll get to find out how tall I have become as well as how much I weigh
these days. I think we're going to be starting finger foods soon - and
who knows maybe I'll even try to eat some rather than giving it away to
Mommy and Wilson!

My new cousin,
Lincoln
James, was born on 6/4.
May 31 - June 6, 2005
(39 Weeks)
I am becoming more comfortable
with my physical abilities and I realize that I am capable of moving
different ways. I am still not crawling but I went from a sitting
position, into the splits, and then finally onto my tummy.
At swimming this week I did the
monkey walk along the edge of the pool. I also got to go through Ms.
Barbara's hoop for the first time while floating on the kick board - twice!
Next week is the last week of swimming. I will miss it but I am
looking forward to being big enough to go down the slide when class starts
up again in the fall.

New Foods for this week:
Spinach with Potatoes (Yuck!) and Apples with Plums.
