 Week 38 + 5!

Well the Eggplant Parmigiana worked after only 30 hours of consumption!  Although it could have also
been the full moon - or a combination of the two!  Either way Rachel made her debut into the world
on August 31!  The whole birthing thing was a piece of cake - the anesthesiologist was the hero of
the day - "All hail the epidural!"

Mom, Dad, and Baby are healthy, happy, and adjusting.  :-)

Week 38!

Any day now...Baby Girl Pogany is already revealing what a prankster she is.  On Wednesday after
5 hours of 5 - 7 minute contractions she decided she wasn't quite ready to enter the world.  It
is now Saturday and each day is spent contracting, not contracting, and then contracting again.
And they are not the friendly little contractions of yesterday so I am hoping that this does not continue for two more weeks!  On the upside of things, she has dropped and I can once again look over my shoulder!  Now if only I could get to my feet...

The past two days there have been many trips to the store, the mall, and to a local art
fair.  As a last resort a batch of Labor Inducing Eggplant Parmigiana Alla Scalini's may be in order.
Rumor has it that after consuming, women go into labor within 48 hours.  The scary thing is that it
seems to have worked for 3 people that I know.  Can we make it a fourth?  Stay tuned...

Week 37!

We successfully made it to full term -  hurray!
Based on today's doctor appointment - she will be arriving "soon!"

The main components of the nursery are complete, all of the newborn clothes are washed and ready, the hospital bag is packed, and the husband has been instructed to have his cell phone at all times! Now we wait for the 5 minute contractions...

Week 36!

We're free!!!  Well sort of, small errands are ok but three hour shopping trips are still off limits.
Not that we could handle that much excitement at this point anyway.

We officially celebrated our new found freedom after today's doctor appointment with a
mocha shake from Potbellys and an excursion to pick up some post-pregnancy gear.

The nursery should be completely finished, sans art for the walls, by the end of the week.
The crib and changing table are just waiting to be assembled.

Week 35!

After being on modified bed rest since June 12, we've successfully made it to 35 weeks!

After this upcoming weekend (36 weeks), we'll officially be off house arrest and can
scoot around town as we see fit.  The big question will be where to go first?!

This week we had an ultrasound and confirmed once again that baby Pogany is indeed a girl.
This is good news particularly since we received a lot of girl clothes during the shower and
we are in the process of painting the nursery Whisper Violet!.
We also learned that she is weighing in at approximately 4 lbs. and 9 oz.
So for all of you who were secretly hoping that we'd have a 10lb. baby you are out of luck!
