February 21 - February 27, 2006
(1 year, 25 weeks)
We had a fun little party for Wilson. Mommy let me
help her make his cake and then we wrapped his gift. I think he was
very surprised. Wilson is working on putting some of the photos from
his birthday onto his web page. I'll add a link when he is finished.
On Friday, I went to Chuck E. Cheese with my friends Sammy
and Madison. It was so much fun. We ate hot dogs, pizza, and
fries. We rode lots of rides and we even stayed out a little past our
bedtime! My favorite parts were the carousel and the yellow bus.
I even learned how to put the tokens into the machines thanks to Daddy.
Mommy liked the ski ball best. I hope we go back soon.
Yesterday I got to see my baby brother. Mommy had an
ultrasound and Daddy and I came along. I pointed to the screen and
said baby and then I looked at Mommy's belly. I wonder how he got from
Mommy's belly onto the TV? Maybe he knows Elmo. I'll have to
ask.
Today at swim class I got to jump through a hoop into the
pool. Miss Barbara and Mommy helped of course but I was hooked the
minute I tried it. I can be cautious but I do have a daring side too.

On Monday I went to the Children's museum with Katie and
Sammy. I had so much fun. The last time I went I wasn't walking
yet and it was just ok. Now that I can walk I was able to explore all
of the exhibits. Two of my favorite places were the TV producer area
and the water room. I also learned that I weigh 20.5 milk jugs!
Not too scientific I know, but roughly that equates to 20.5 lbs. assuming
their scale is accurate.
I also got to meet Elmo in person. A bunch of us
went to his birthday party. I got a balloon and Mommy got a cupcake.
I wasn't too scared when I met Elmo but I didn't want him touching me
either.
Thursday is Wilson's birthday! Hurray. Mommy
and I are planning something special for him. First we are going
to pick out a new toy for him and then we are going to make a special doggie
cake. I've seen Wilson open presents before but I think I might need
to help him blow out his candles.

17 Months...
February 7 - February 13, 2006

I like to twirl. 'Round and around I spin until I
get dizzy. It is so fun!
I learned a few new words this past week such as no, knee,
and giraffe. My favorite new word is "no." I even wag my first
finger as I say it (something that neither Mommy or Daddy do). When I
tell Mommy that I am hungry she will ask "would you like green beans?"
I say "no." "Would you like cheese?" "No." Would you like corned
beef?" Finally, I say "yeah." Usually this conversation consists
of Mommy offering me about a half dozen more items until I find something
that sounds good. I think Mommy is getting frustrated that I prefer to
say no more than yes.
I got a new toy. It is a monkey that sings "Head,
Shoulders, Knees, & Toes." I am starting to touch my body parts as the
monkey sings the words.

January 31 - February 6, 2006
(1 year, 22 weeks)
On Wednesday after my nap I awoke to gigantic ball pit
week in my living room. Uncle Jeffrey and Aunt Lauren bought me this
really great ball pit for my birthday and Mommy decided that blowing it up
was the perfect solution to a gloomy January. I couldn't agree more.
The gigantic ball pit has 6 action packed sides for me to play with. I
particularly enjoy shooting hoops - albeit from the inside out - and talking
on the giant blow up phone receiver. I've had 3 different ball pit
play dates and all my friends agree that the ball pit rocks. Mommy
says that we can enjoy the ball pit until Friday so that she can reclaim the
living room. I'll be so sad to see it go.
I have my first official job! Shhhh...don't tell the
labor law folks! Anyway my job is feeding Wilson! It is so much
fun. Mommy scoops the food into the cup and then I carry the cup to
Wilson's bowl and dump. Since he gets two cups I get to do it twice!
Then I return the cup to the food container, Mommy closes the lid, and I
push it back into the closet. It's almost as fun as cleaning up my
spilled milk with a paper towel.
