26 Months - November 2006

November 28 - December 4, 2006
(2 year, 13 weeks)

I love my baby brother, and Mommy, and Daddy, and Bo (the cat), and Wilson, and Mrs. K... the list goes on and on.  I am on a love kick right now and I love pretty much everyone and everything.  I also love having my picture taken, especially when pictures are being taken of Ian.

I sort of get the concept of time.  I understand that things happened in the past which I commonly refer to as yesterday regardless of whether it was really yesterday or two weeks ago.  I also understand things will happen in the future like going to gymnastics on Saturday with Daddy when I will go on the balance beam (tomorrow - regardless of the day).  I do know some of the days of the week like on Tuesday I go to school.

I love singing and my latest favorite tunes are the Alphabet song and B-I-N-G-O.

"I love Ian!"

November 21 - November 27, 2006
(2 year, 12 weeks)

My hair is long enough for pigtails and I love them!  I wore my hair in pigtails for the first time to a princess party for Olivia's 2nd birthday on Saturday.  It was at her party, btw, where I made my lovely crown.

I had a rather busy social calendar this past weekend.  On Friday, I went to Daniel's house for dinner.  Daniel has fun toys in his basement and in his room.  I particularly liked his riding helicopter and his Clifford dog.  On Saturday, as I mentioned above was Olivia's party.  Lots of friends were there and we had cake!  Later that day we went to Cassie's to watch the Michigan/Ohio State game.  Aside from the loss, I had so much fun playing with Cassie.  And finally on Sunday it was Rebecca's 2nd birthday party.  I must have been socially pooped or freaked out a bit by Barney but I wasn't very social.  I did however, talk about how much fun I had all the way home and I really love my new "Rachel's Room" sign!

Mommy bought me Elmo's Potty Time DVD and I have watched it 1000 times.  Ok maybe not really 1000 times but frequent enough to know most of the "You'll do it, you'll use the potty" song.  I caught Mommy singing it earlier today and told her to stop.

I am fascinated with airplanes and the airport.  Especially since I got to drop Daddy off at the airport and then pick him up.  He was with Uncle Jeffrey, Aunt Lauren, and the Bears (football guys but pronounced Softball guys) this past weekend.  Speaking of Uncle Jeffrey and Aunt Lauren, I was looking at the pictures in our living room and Mommy was pointing and asking me who people were.  I know everybody in my family by name - uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins - everybody.  I even know my last name and Mommy and Daddy's first names.

Mommy took me to the Children's Museum today.  I had so much fun.  I especially liked being a Veterinarian.  I gave both of my doggie patients a flu shot.  Afterwards we went to lunch - mmmm...turkey sandwich and my favorite - a mocha shake!  You see they have a pretend Potbellys at the museum and it was all I could talk about.

I am officially jealous of baby Ian.  It took almost 5 months to kick in but it has.  I really don't like when he is on Mommy's lap and lately I try to climb up on her lap when she is holding him or feeding him.  At least he is not bothering my toys!

November 7 - November 13, 2006
(2 year, 10 weeks)

I have become quite the singer.  I know the words to many songs.  Lately I really enjoy singing Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle, songs from school (clean up song, snack time song), and of course Lori's Fish and Dinosaur song.  Mommy and I sang the Dinosaur song at the Potbellys last week for a free sandwich!  We even got a round of applause.

Mommy introduced me to the world of Ring Around the Rosie (which I can also sing).  Anyway, I LOVE IT - especially the "all fall down" part.  I make Mommy do it over and over and over again.  She looks pretty haggard by the time we're finished.  I think it's because she has a much longer way to fall down.

Mommy also busted out the Twister Game the other day.  I had so much fun spinning the spinner and touching and standing on the big colored dots.  I really liked when I had to put my feet on a color like Green and then I had to lay on my belly and stretch all the way across to Blue to put my hands.  The box says for kids age 6 and up but at a mere 2 I was having a lot of fun.

(2 year, 9 weeks)

Last week was my 2nd "Bye Week" in two years.  It was a crazy week so I didn't have a chance to write about what's up.  Mommy and baby Ian went to San Francisco/Sonoma to meet up with Daddy and go winery hopping while I stayed home with Ma and Grandpa Jim.  We had so much fun.  We went to the mall (I got a really great rocking chair), made cookies, went to the park, and ate Tacos!  It was SO much fun.  I missed Mommy and Daddy just a little bit but I got to spend a lot of time with my grandparents and that was great.

Pa and I picked Mommy, Daddy, and baby Ian up from the airport.  I LOVE the airport.  I got to ride up and down the escalators and elevators.  We had a cart to push around and I got to watch the baggage on the carousels.  I keep asking to go on a plane.  Maybe someday.

Today was Halloween and I was a pumpkin.  We got to wear our costumes to school today and again when it was trick or treat time.  We had our 2nd Annual Halloween bash tonight.  Not everyone could make it but we still had a great time.  I got to go trick or treating and I got some candy, crackers, and erasers.  I also helped to pass out the candy.  Most of the time I gave the trick or treaters one piece.
