43 Months - April 2008

April 22 - April 28, 2008
(3 years 34 weeks)

Pa took me to see Seussical - a Dr. Seuss musical at the theater.  It was really fun.  They preformed parts from many of the stories that I know and like.  There was a lot of music too.  I like going to the theater and I get to wear tights.  I even used the potty at the restaurant (Potbellys).

I had a play date at my house with two of my "boy" friends.  It was fun at first but then it got loud and crazy.  Basically, they were just being boys together.  Ian loved it but I wasn't too sure.  I think I might have to stick to one on one play dates with boys or else have other girls too.

We had a juice incident when we were getting ready to leave for school (it was actually Mommy, not me) and the floor was awfully sticky even after we wiped it up.  So I took the initiative to help out.  When Mommy brought up the mop and the bucket I insisted that I get to do it.  So surprisingly without any further pleading or begging, Mommy said sure and showed me how to work the mop.  It's not as easy as it looks, even with rain boots.  I mopped about 3/4 of the room before I got tired.  Mommy said I did a great job.

"Earning my keep"

April 15 - April 21, 2008
(3 years 33 weeks)

I am a potty pro!  And I can go at home, and I can go at the park, and at restaurants, and Grandma Gigi's house, and with a fox and on a train...oh wait, I am confusing the potty with Green Eggs and Ham.  Either way, you get the point.  I figured it out and I have a brand new beautiful Tinkerbelle dress to show for my efforts.  Oh yeah my bladder, as well as Mommy and Daddy, are pretty happy too.

I have become fearless jungle gym park girl.  Can I climb it - yes I can.  Sorry I have been watching too much Bob the Builder with Ian these days.  But I really like the park and that I can pretty much climb on and do everything.  I especially liked the zip swing in the picture to the left.

Latest quip - "Oh yes, it would be my pleasure."  - when asked to do things.

April 8 - April 14, 2008
(3 years 32 weeks)

I am trying really hard to use the potty but I am trying equally as hard not to pee.  As you might imagine an inner battle is ensuing and my bladder is not enjoying combat duty.  The upside is that I rarely have an accident.  I am a glass half full kind of girl (no pun intended).  I probably shouldn't be sharing too much of this with you as I will probably be horrified that I did when I reread this in another 10 years.

I went to the park to enjoy a beautiful 70 degree day with my friends.  We had lunch at the park and attempted to fly kites.  My $1.99 fairy kite was impaled and then destroyed when it collided with Ellie's $2.69 Disney princess kite.  Then Ian's $1.99 back up bug kite (which flew really really high) dove to the ground and traveled across the park when I let go of the string.  As Mommy tried rewinding it, it quickly launched into the air and into an unsuspecting tree.  Flying kites lasted about  15 minutes tops.

Thumb Sucking Update - On hiatus while working on potty training.

April 1 - April 7, 2008
(3 years 31 weeks)

I got a new bike.  A real bike.  A big girl bike.  A Disney princess bike.  It was gorgeous this weekend so Daddy said "Let's go to the park."  We dug out the Kettler bike and when I went to sit on it - whoops it was too small.  So Ian got to ride it and when we got home we all piled into the car and headed to Toys R Us.  It was a popular idea for a Sunday afternoon - nice weather, bike department - clearly the happening place to be.  There were two bikes to choose from.  I went with the purple one that has the streamers on the handle bars.  Later that day Mommy found me a matching princess helmet which also came with elbow and knee pads.  I insisted on wearing them until bed time.

Thumb Sucking Update - Mommy painted my nails and I haven't been sucking my thumb.  Well, I did sneak a little taste this afternoon at the end of my nap but I have been really good about keeping the thumb out for the most part.
